March 2012

After the trip to DC we recovered well and moved into more fun...The pollen was waiting and hit me head on and lungs too! Here are are a few photos of the rest of our March Madness. My brother, Robert, and his family had some family photos made so I wanted to show you how adorable his kids are (he and Andrea are pretty cute too :)) Ellie is about 9 months and Brodie 4 1/2 in this pic. Claire had been seeing pictures of cupcakes in her "A to Z" book so I asked her if she wanted to try to help make some and I got a head nod that would rock a see saw off it's hinges! So here's the result of that kitchen fun. We have been trying to take Claire with us to the dentist to her her acquainted so when it's her turn, she's comfortable. So this time it was Jeff's turn. Here she got to "ride" in the chair after his check up. Of note, we drive past the dentist's office a lot since it's near our home. 3 days after that appointment we drove by and unprompted Claire exclaims, "Daddy's Teeth! Daddy's Teeth!" It was adorable. Toward the end of the month we decided to join Lea and Cel in doing the Rumpshaker 5k. Of course I ran 2 times that week for the first time in 6 months! (I have been going to the gym 3 times/week but no running lately.) We made it the whole way and Claire kept us on track. Enjoy a few photos...

Trip to DC

Jeff's spring break was last week so we took the first weekend and went on an adventure trip to D.C. His mother is working up there some and so his dad flew up and much fun we'd have and memories made. Highlights include Claire's first subway ride and taxi ride, Museum of Natural History, Visit with the Lee Family, visit to Arlington Urgent Care (ear infection), hang out time in "Muh"'s apartment, new purse and musical instruments, riding the moving sidewalk... Claire sure can fool you when she has a fever. She acts like it's play time but doesn't want to eat. It was quite scary to be seen by a strange doctor but thank God for antibiotics. Thanks, "Muh", for coming with us and Grandad for going with Daddy to get the meds. It takes a village! So wonderful to see the Adam, Holly and Miller! Miller is exactly one year younger than Claire. How fun to share the same Bday! Holly and Adam got married 2 weeks before us and rushed home from their honeymoon to fly in for our wedding so Holly could bless us with her wonderful voice! We'll never forget that! Great trip and follow up with our pediatrician confirmed Claire was on the road to recovery. Claire is a great traveler and such a great kid! She made so many folks smile on the subways, in the MD office, in restaurants and especially all of us! Enjoy the highlight reel...

18 Months

Here we are at 18 months! (She's actually 19 months today but took this long to get pix and time to upload so work with me:)... WOW! 22.5 pounds and 31" tall and absolutely adorable and tons of fun! She learns a new word every other day! She likes "salsa" and "ice cream"...she enjoys colors and finger painting and her "A to Z" book. Her other favorite book is Dr. Seuss "The Foot Book". She knows her teachers' names and her classmates' names. Still loving Kindermusik and Elmo ("Melmo!"). We have this little banter back and forth where when Claire wants to tell you she loves you she starts and says "I!" (pause) your turn to say "Love" (Pause)and she follows with and toddler high pitched "Youuuuu!" So stinking adorable! She has music preferences and if she likes what she's just heard, she says, "Again". If she's ready to move on, she says "Next!". She is now reaching door knobs and so we have those trendy white door knob spinners in place. It's ever changing and so much fun. We are having a blast!
