September wrap up

September was packed with lots of fun and activity. Claire continues to do well in kindergarten. Her favorite things are Mr. Moore's music class, art, computers and Miss Vestri...she does not care for fire drills AT ALL! Joel loves Pioneer but he misses Chandlar at South Highland. He is now officially in the big boy bed and mastering the potty! He is still running low grade fever. We saw a genetics MD this month and await lab results that would take 3-6 weeks. He still seems to feel great. Jeff took Claire to first Bama Game and she made it through first half and watched the Band. Loved watching Big Al! We made a trip to Baton Rouge so Jeff could go to LSU/Auburn game...Good times down there of football, carousel, park and cookies! We crunched in some leaves and got to go watch part of the MSU/Auburn game with the Brelands...Jack and Claire and Sam and Joel played until they dropped! I made my annual trip to the dermatologist with my eye on a black cirlce on my left arm (size of pencil head eraser)...biopsy showed melanoma and further testing and taking borders showed stage 0..praise the Lord! That was a long few days waiting to hear results...So everyone dose up with sunscreen! Enjoy some photos of the fun times around the Carver house.

2nd Annual Carver Girls trip

To Montgomery, AL we go for the 2nd Annual Carver Girls trip. It would be a quick 24 hour get away but we make the most of the time we can grab. We left right after school and caught in some Labor Day weekend traffic. Checked into the hotel and headed to eat dinner together at Dreamland BBQ. We took an after dinner stroll along the river enjoying the awe of the cool riverboat (for romantic sunset dinner cruise) and the amazingly long freight train passing through. Nothing like the sound of the real CHOOOOOO...from that locomotive! Piggy back ride back to the room to Skype with the Carver men to say good night and off to the pool for a quick swim. Lights out for us pretty early. We arose to snuggle in bed watching Doc McStuffins then down for the breakfast buffet. Back to enjoy the room a little more to do nails and play games before embarking on the fantastic Montgomery Zoo! What a fun place! Hot but fun! What a true joy my little girl is! We loved the time to carve out for just us girls...everything from how she likes every nail to be painted a different color, to why we pray, and how to handle frustrations to what animals are really weird looking, and how to handle hotels/being in new places/strangers etc..She has great ideas, such strength packed into a little body, and is quite creative...Definitely wants her little bro to feel loved and made sure we brought him something back. Here's some highlights...While we were away the Carver men went to the Birmingham Zoo ...so we all enjoyed animals just in different cities...May this tradition live on. Montgomery AL may not seem glamorous but being with my sweet daughter is glamorous no matter when or where! Next year shooting for 2 nights :)
