Easter 2012

Dancing to an Easter Card Running to the Eggs It was a different Easter for us this year. We are normally in Charlotte, NC with Jeff's family but Aunt Evelyn was recovering from a surgery and though Claire would have given her the best home health she could, it might have been a bit much on her. So we were home and enjoyed going to the Good Friday Remembrance Service at our church, doing an Easter Egg Hunt at a little church up the street from us, and going to our church on Easter Sunday. Jeff plays the trumpet in the orchestra and enjoyed playing in all the services. Easter is a powerful time and a great time to slow down and ponder the steps of Christ especially during his last week of life from the Triumphal Entry (Palm Sunday) to the cross and soon the tomb that 3 days later was empty! It's painstaking to slow down and soak in what all Christ went through not only physically, but emotionally and spiritually for us. He knew we were lost and His sacrifice was the only Way we'd have a chance of hope for eternity. So out of love, He did it! Took all our sin though it was not His to carry and then did something no other god has ever done - Rise from the Dead to seal it for us! Too much to put into words! So we dressed cute and enjoyed the eggs but we took it in each day reading through the episodes of his daily walk in that last "Passion Week" from the Bible to try not to miss what He was doing for us. He lives to day working in our lives, praying for us and preparing a place for us in Heaven - just to name a few things of what He's doing now! I was flooded with emotion as we, as a church family stood and responded to our pastor as he exclaimed, "He is Risen!" - "He is Risen Indeed!". What hope we have! I hope you know and have this hope in your heart!
