4th of July Weekend in Memphis

My last road trip before Baby Carver arrives was a weekend in Memphis with Robert, Andrea and Brodie. Andrea will turn the big 3-0 on July 12 and Brodie turns 3 on July 31 and we would miss the Bday party next weekend. It was so fun though to have a "sibling only" weekend. Usually when we all see each other it revolves around a holiday, birthday party or other event but not much "hang out" time. We enjoyed time working out together, splashing in the pool, being a part of Brodie's potty training (Aunt Sis, I pee pee'd in the POTTTTYYY!! My underroos are dry (repeat 2-3 times in a loud, exuberant voice!!) and getting ice cream/custard together. We enjoyed going to church with them on Sunday. Brodie is at such a fun age and we enjoyed hearing him call us Aunt Sis and Uncle Jeff! Jeff taught him out to eat ice pops and I think he's addicted. His bday gift from us was swimming stuff. He's great in the water! Andrea and Robert are a great pair and great parents for him. We loved watching them in action as a family. Thanks for having us and we'll get the cousins together before to long! Brodie knows there's a baby in my belly and he wanted to pull my shirt up to see her. He kept pointing to my belly button wondering if he pushed it, maybe she'd come out. He gave his cousin sweet kisses on my belly. Precious!!

On the way home we stopped in Tupelo, MS to visit a dear college friend of mine, Anna Morgan. She is married to Rick and has 3 beautiful children: Bryant, Joy and Mary Kathryn. It was a joy to catch up and connect. I met Anna my freshman year at MSU. She was used by God to encourage me in my walk with Christ. I remember her asking me about my "walk" on the drill field one day and I didn't quite get that she meant my relationship with Christ. I took her literal wondering if she had seen Jesus walking on campus! :) She has prayed for me so much over the years and I know God has heard her prayers in so many ways. Hard to believe we can say we have been friends for almost 20 years now! Thank you, Anna, for your constant friendship and love!
