5 months old

Claire's abilities at 5 months: giggling and cooing, putting most everything she can reach in her mouth, grabbing and swatting at things; started Rice cereal 1 week ago and working on those oral motor skills; weighs 12# 4oz and 23" long as of 2 weeks ago; sleeping well at night, short napper, and still nursing with me! She loves to help turn the pages of cardboard books and loves to ride in her new jog stroller (Thanks Ya Ya and Jim!). She's being promoted to Infant 2 class at day care. First of many promotions in her life. There was a bit of pride welling up in my heart to hear to hear, "She's being promoted"...you'd think she'd stepped up the next rung in the corporate ladder :) She will be hanging out with the children who sit up and crawl in her next class and hopefully she'll be learning by watching them.

God continues to use her to teach me lots...like lately I've pondered what it means that "at the NAME of Jesus every knee will bow and tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord" (Phillipians 2:10-12)...The NAME rings in my ears...What does that mean? Then it hit me what all comes to my mind when I hear the NAME of Jeff or the Name of Claire...What comes to me when I hear their names is the entirety of who they are and it's rooted in a real deep love. I'm still pondering this one...you ponder too...

Here's a few pix of highlights...don't you love bath time?!! Special thanks to my sweet friend, Paige. Noah is 3 months older than Claire and Paige has been so wonderful to coach me and encourage me as we approach the next stages since they have just been through it. She's coaching me now on making Claire's baby food. I'll try the Stage one foods and see how it goes...I may give Gerber a run for their money! :))
