ARC Walk

Our small group with kids joined Jennifer to support the 1st annual 5k Run/1 mile fun run fundraising for the ARC of Jefferson County. Little did we know they'd start the walk after the 5k, so we did our own version of the walk. We came upon the Vulcan Triathletes practicing for their upcoming races. We humbly turned down the invitation to join the team. Maybe next year :)) On a side note, pregnancy has made it uncomfortable for me to run. So I have let it go but still enjoy swimming laps, the stationary bike or other cardio equipment. I can still lift most weights I used to do. It at least makes me feel like I'm keeping my strength up. Surely it will help with labor and recovery...it can't hurt anyway!

We have enjoyed our small group and appreciate sharing life together. Soon Michael and Jennifer will move on to start their own group. Good to grow but we will miss them. Not pictured is the Cobb family - we missed you guys!! Maybe this can be our annual event. The rest of that day we got the pleasure of keeping Laney and Daniel for Heather and Brian. We took them swimming at the Hoover Rec and I think they liked watching the diving competition more than splashing around. Kids really are amused at the simple things...floating in a ring and watching divers. It was lunch at Jason's Deli before nap time. Adorable kids! It was fun to have 2 children in our house for a few hours and ponder what that would be like for us...Daniel was intrigued with the baby in my belly and asked permission to touch it...Sure thing! It was a brief pat of amazement. We can't wait to hear the cute things our little girl will say! What a fun day!
