2 weeks old and growing

So we have made it to 2 weeks and all still alive! Joel is doing great. On a pretty good cycle of eating, playing and snoozing every 3-4 hours or so. He is nursing very well. He's only sprayed me a couple of times during diaper changes until I wised up! Claire is more attentive to him but has no idea how to be quiet around a sleeping baby...so Joel is learning survival of the fittest! I ended up with a bad case of pink eye in both eyes last week and passed it to Joel. I had never had it before and just thought maybe my eyes were red and itchy from sleep deprivation but it didn't get better after several days. So thanks, mom, for coming along with me and Joel so I could get my eyes checked and get drops! Who has time for issues of your own when you have a newborn (and toddler!). I feel much better from the surgery. We got out and drove to the grocery and have done short trips each day and I feel like I can now keep up with Claire. I just feel very numb in my lower abdomen. That could be a good thing :) WE have ventured out to our favorite mexican restaurant for dinner and one of our favorite sandwich places for lunch and went well. Jeff is on spring break this week and has been a huge help. He and Claire got me flowers last week :) Awwww! You folks with more than 2 kids...I have no idea how you do it! I like the man-to-man defense we have! Hats off to you folks! Joel's stats at 2 week check up today: Weight: 9 pounds 3.5 oz; Length 21 3/4" long and in 90th% for weight and length. We are grateful! We'll do another check up at 6 weeks. Enjoy some highlights from the last 2 weeks of sibling time, visitors and daily life.
